- Review your unit 3 personal assessment of your psychological, physical, and spiritual well-being. Reflect on these areas . How did you score yourself on a scale from 1 to 10 in unit 3? How do you score yourself now? Has the score changed? Why or why not?
Unit 3:
Psychological – rated a 6
Physical – rated a 6
Spiritual – rated a 8
Unit 10
Psychological – rated a 9
Put what I’ve learn in this course to work for me, by mediation and prayer and coming to realize that my health and wellness is for the most part, in my own hands. I can make a difference in my own and others wellness!
Physical – rated a 6
This is still a work in progress…finding the time is my problems and I am all to willing to put that workout on the back burner. This is still and area that I must learn to make high on my “to do” list.
Spiritual – rated a 9
There is always room to grow closer to my God. There is always something he can show me and I’m must be willing to be open to he will.
- Review the goals and activities you set for yourself in each area. Have you made progress toward the goals? Explain.
I have made progress in all areas. But as I’ve note above there is always room for improvement.
- Have you implemented the activities you chose for your well-being in each of the three areas? Explain.
The goals set in Unit 3 are:
Psychological – “Learn to be still and become more grateful, forgiving, and thankful. Yes, I have learned to be still and it is truly a beautiful thing, my life has improved greatly just by becoming more grateful, even through the tough times.
Physical – To workout 5-6 days a week- No I haven’t made it to 5-6 time a week but I have continued to workout at least 3 time a week for longer periods of time. (From 15 minutes to 30).
Spiritual – To continue to grow in Christ – Yes, with the learning to be still I have also gain the time needed to be with Christ daily.
- Summarize your personal experience throughout this course. Have you developed improved well-being? What has been rewarding? What has been difficult? How will this experience improve your ability to assist others?
My personal experience throughout this course is one of gaining peace of mind and a wonderful sense of empowerment. Knowing that I’m in control of much of my health and healing is quiet a sense of freedom. Some of the mediation practices were difficult and first but just because they were unfamiliar and at times my mind was unwilling to focus, but I suppose that everyone has to start from somewhere. I think that when I deal with others information that I have gained in the course will become even more important as I deal with my own health and helping them gain their own.
Thanks to everyone for their help in my gaining true peace.

Hi Darlene,
ReplyDeleteYou have made some improvements. That is great. I haven't made really any as of yet. I feel the reason why is I have been so overwhelmed this term with 3 classes I haven't had any me time. Now that I have finished my degree I will be able to focus on myself more.
You did a good job on your goals. I will be able to use what I have learned more now that I have the time. I am going to start working out at least 3 times a week as well.
Good luck to you! Happy health and wellness.
Darlene
ReplyDeleteI loved your post. It was almost as if I was reading my own thoughts. I can very much relate to all of your goals. I completely agree that we can always grow closer to God and I don't think we can ever score a spiritual 10 because we can always do more. Even if you are not exercising as much as you would like, it still sounds like you are getting some each week which is far better than most of our country. Keep up the good work because it sounds like you are on the right track!

Darlene,
ReplyDeleteGreat post! I understand that it can be difficult to fit a workout in; I hope once you are finished with your degree you will have some time available to do so. I also liked what you said about always growing closer to God. I hope you continue to gain peace through meditation and prayer. Thanks for sharing!
Darlene, I thought your post is great! I wanted to pass on a suggestion to you that I have found helpful in my own workout. I moved my stationary bike into my bedroom, and won't allow myself to leave my bedroom in the morning tell I have ridden at least 3 miles. In this way I avoid getting side tract with life and not getting my work out in.
